TOTD: The Final POISONOUS Death Dagger stabbed into Alternative Media.

Thought of the Day - The Final POISONOUS Death Dagger stabbed into Alternative Media.

Most people like me, would look at the Fake News Law at superficial level on first sight. This is always the tactic used by PAP controlled Mainstream Media to mislead and misguide people into looking at the big punch while avoiding the poison darts and daggers hidden in that thick legislation.

While we are busy criticising why political appointees like Ministers were given such huge power to decide what's true and what's false, we miss the whole poisonous intent of this law.

Hidden within this legislation is the vicious intent to force the closure of all alternative media by taking aim at advertisers and sponsors of alternative media, instill FEAR into them while putting an "exemption clause" so that it could be used to exempt PAP's Mainstream media.

The reason why Facebook and other international internet media platform are so against this law is basically because not only the owners of these platforms would be criminally liable but advertisers on their platforms as well as sponsors will be criminalized by PAP government as "supporting fake news"!

The proposed law and with no single doubt, would be passed, says that if a website or internet platform has been found guilty of DELIBERATE spreading "fake news" or information (for 3 times within 6 months), those who donated or sponsored these sites, or advertise on these sites, will be charged in Singapore court as well!

Now you know why there is an "exemption" clause which gives PAP great power to exempt SPH, Mediacorp and media under its control from this law because, even these media outlet could not be sure that each and every news they broadcast could only be True but not Fake!

On the other hand, who would dare to advertise on alternative media like TOC or Independent SG if this law is passed? Who would dare to donate to these entities to face the risk of being prosecuted by PAP government if these media get into trouble with Fake News legislation?

This law is a total Farce. It is making use of the excuse of curbing "Fake News" to empower PAP Ministers with enormous Judiciary and Executive power to thumb down internet media which they don't like!

It goes against the spirit of Rule of Law whereby the Judiciary will be totally by-passed and smack of Rule by Law of a dictatorial power which will decide who will be exempted while who will be persecuted!

The potent poison actually lies within the details. If Singaporeans do not wake up to such blatant facts but chose to believe in PAP's sweet talk of its weak justification to empower themselves with such dictatorial powers, I fear Democracy will leave us eventually one day.

Singaporeans are smart enough to know what PAP really is lah. No need for Goh Meng Seng to awaken them.

It is just that they are still voting PAP simply because PAP is the lesser of 2 evils.

To vote for Goh Meng Seng is even worse, as voters will be asking for trouble. PAP as govt will tekan MP Goh Meng Seng for sure and residents under such MPs will also suffer, correct or not?

So still want to vote for Goh Meng Seng, or for that matter any other opposition candidates when their parties are not united and ready to be govt?

For starters, Mr GMS must recognised that he does not owe anybody any explanation. Only you and your family answer needed to yourselves. Please inject vigour into fighting for what the average people wanted and not what you think they need. The average people are not you.

Why are good people not playing by the rules in the property market. Why does a couple needed to decouple to buy a second property? Why must they use their children's names? A fair minister will evaluate why.

When a minister is not first rate, shows the delivery in its results.

An ego gives you bolder decisions on policies. There is a difference between having an ego problem and having an ego. Eventually your bold decisions become bad ones and that was what happening.

Leaders who refuse to face realty will have a hard time in their life. They think they are good thinkers. But they do not realise that they can make mistakes like everyone else. They only respond to adversity by taxing more money.

The finance minister is such an example. His one and route to top-up coffers is only to increase the GST. They only know how the spin the situation to their advantage. My goodness.

Some nights during reservice we were only given 5 to 6 hours sleep.
Since we are responsible for our own safety, can we request for more sleep?

People mostly migrated due to the education system; to big and open spaces; slower pace of life; less stress; cheaper properties. Don't think people migrated because demolishing LKY's home; fake news law; or Temasek?

The most they miss when migrated is the hawker food and family? Most people are selfish; they are only concern what is in their four walls?

Consent with the above. Concern top is my family health, enough money to pay the bills, harmony and safe. No bother about fake news or whatsoever. Life is difficult.

None of us like anyone who constantly scrutinizes micro-opinions on minister's wages and 99 years HDB. It is not only annoying but also makes us doubt their personal control. Micro-opinions make us feel their ineptness but also their performance. If this is their intuitive way of behavior than these small- minded people have some serious underlying deformation.

Competent and caring people should conspire for good things that benefit the citizens; that is anyone born in Singapore should be eligible to buy public or exec condos regardless of divorce; single ; income or whatever. What do the people gain even if they are paid less than Najib . Do not act like the ministers. When they make policies they cover 2 holes but dug 6. They will only repeat about the 2 good holes but ignore the 6 bad ones they have dug. We must not fall to their type.

Quotes About Lawyers
“A lawyer with a briefcase can steal more than a thousand men with guns.” - Mario Puzo

“You win some and you lose some, but you get paid for all of them.” - Anonymous

“You cannot live without the lawyers, and certainly you cannot die without them.” - Joseph H. Choate

“A judge is a law student who marks his own examination papers.” - H. L. Mencken

Tribunal dismisses complaint of possible overcharging against senior lawyer over S$8.8 million legal bill.

Precisely its a clear-cut case of having the priciest legal system in the universe. Lawyers and senior-counsels form a group of their own, for although they clearly do not belong to the legal section , neither are they generally regarded as belong to the people section of any sort. They belong to themselves. If its not nip in the bud, gradually the over-charging will become standardise.

FAMILY

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.

But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?

So what is the lesson behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?

FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

On a scale of one to ten, how comfortable are the people with TCB would be 5.5. The realty is he need not find fault with the G but concentrate on the lives of the people. Unifying,by not taking sides and focusing on agreeing at a level with the common people, not what the festers of a handful on social media. People are not interested on what Ho Ching earns, they are only interested in what they can earn. Please do not remain clueless. TCB must not repeat the concept of the other oppositions who had failed miserably. His strategy must be sincere with good intentions and centered around being different and unique, otherwise its just going to be another Tan.
TCB need to implement change to the other opposition parties. This may be his first and last chance. Act wisely. Please eliminate nonessential politics.

I dare hope where people are never treated as means but always as ends. Search engines and social media will be optimized for truth rather than simply showing people what think people want to see or read; that there will be independent, third- party algorithms that rate the veracity of the headlines, websites, allowing users sift through the propaganda-laden garbage and get closer to evidence-based truth.
Fake freedom.
